We may not consider ourselves corporate but we do consider the environment and the social & ethical manner in which we operate our company.
In our opinion there is no excuse these days for running a sloppy wasteful business which doesn’t consider its environmental impacts in all of its activities.
We partner with companies who take their CSR as seriously as we do. All of our brands have strong CSR policies and building environmentally responsible products is at the core of what they set out to do.
We try to demonstrate in as much detail the lengths and efforts our brands go to in the sustainable development of their products. Where possible we will always show the carbon footprint rating in (Co2 kg) in the description of each product. We feel this information empowers you, our customer to make informed product choices based on more than just specification and price.
What about areabe.? As a web-based company our carbon footprint is relatively low but our choices of who we partner with are driven heavily by working with like-minded ethical and environmentally aware organisations.
Our biggest environmental impact is delivering goods to you! we partner with ‘expect’ who work tirelessly to achieve an amazing service and to run their delivery fleet as efficiently as possible by maximising loads and consolidating deliveries.
Re-use, recycle and waste management.
areabe. have partnered with Waste to Wonder an organisation who manage the re-use of unwanted furniture by redistributing to charities based in the UK and abroad. If you have a large volume of unwanted furniture please contact us to discuss how Waste to Wonder could make use of these items.
Recycle – all packaging removed during our installation service is taken from site, segregated and recycled accordingly. Boxes or packaging will be reused where appropriate.
Charity and ethics
We currently support cancer research UK as our nominated charity and you can read about any fundraising activities on our blog
areabe. plans to ensure every product we sell has information on its carbon footprint and a benchmark which it can be compared against.
We are working to develop a direct link at the checkout to offset the carbon footprint of your order with a governmentally recognised offset scheme. Is being a carbon neutral company important to you?
